We are at an exciting time as the rapid growth of data and the advances of computational approaches are bringing unprecedented new research opportunities that could revolutionize our understanding of many biological problems, and more broadly, how science is done. Therefore, our lab works on developing cutting-edge machine learning and AI methods for addressing important challenges in genomics. We are interested in a wide spectrum of problems involving understanding biology through computation, and our current focus is decoding the regulatory logic of the genome. I aim to lead a research team that is creative, supportive, fun, and diverse.

The lab is supported by an NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, a CPRIT first-time tenure track faculty recruitment award, and a UTSW Endowed Scholar award.
